As we know in the transportation commerce no matter how good or safe your equipment, or how well your drivers are trained there is always a possibility of an accident or injury. We advanced our first belt to fit over the handrails of a lift with no modification following a terrible accident in the Denver Colorado area with a passenger falling transmit of a lift. You can see this accident replicated in the video on our website. We looked at and studied the after market lift protection belts available and made the decision not to purchase those because we felt that drilling holes in the handles to attach the belt would weaken the structure. This led us to found and patent an adjustable belt that fitted over the handles requiring no modification. The belts are tested to over 1200lbs of breaking strain, which far exceeds the lifts maximum capacity.
The second belt or rear belt was advanced following a series of accidents and injuries with passengers tipping over backwards into buses. This belt again requires no modification to the lifts as it attaches to the existing bumpers or dampening kit in the case of a Bruan lift, or to existing bolts in the case of the Ricon lift.

During the development of these belts they were tested by paratransit drivers in the field on more than 150 buses, following driver feedback and suggestions the belts were adapted until they became a product that now meets and exceeds our expectations. Drivers feel that the belts dramatically heighten passenger protection and passengers feel much safer and clear while riding on the wheelchair lifts.
